kids, trips and a bad influence...that's you carrie! :)

these last couple of weeks have been crazy - as always - filled with some good days and some hard ones...

we were thrilled when ellee celebrated her 2nd birthday on january 3oth! i can't believe that my little girl is 2 - i can remember like it was yesterday finding out that we were expecting her! it was a shock to say the least! we had just welcomed sophie home 3 weeks earlier and had been told that having biological babies would be all but impossible. ha - i laugh in the face of modern medicine! seriously, god has blessed us more than once with our amazing family!
ellee loved being the center of attention for the day - she takes after matt is so many ways - am i right?!

here and there we were able to get a few nice days when we could venture outside into the minnesota tundra! the kids love it and as always, it makes for great nap times!!

in the midst of all this craziness, i had been planning a work trip to orlando - it was already planned, booked and just days away when we got that sad news that matt's grandpa postma passed away. we made the trip to michigan so that we could celebrate grandpa's life and attend his funeral with the schans family. we felt blessed to squeeze in a short visit with our dear dear friends, dave and missy, before heading to chicago to make a flight to florida. matt dropped me off at the airport before making a solo trip home to minnesota. it was a busy few days, but in the end, i was able to make my conference in orlando. phew - what a week!

attending the conference with me was yet another friend - my 'sister' in every way except by blood, carrie.

while we were, of course, busy and professional - dutifully attending about 1000 sessions, we were able to also fit in some 'down time'. below is the result of carrie's bad influence. i will make sure to write up the full story at some point tomorrow, but for now, the short video will have to do!

thanks all for allowing us to crash your weekends, lunches, flights and conference - it was quite a week!
